Welcome, Chris Jillard!

We are excited to welcome our new supply priest, Christine Jillard, who will provide us with consistent and meaningful worship during this important transitional period as we seek a new rector. Her presence will help guide us spiritually and ensure that our community remains
connected.

Mother Jillard is retired Rector of St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church, Bellevue, Washington. She now lives in Viera, Fl. Let us extend our warmest welcome and support as we journey together in faith and fellowship having her lead us on Sundays during this transition.

Gloria Mongan

Executive Assistant to the Rector and Parish Administrator

Gloria has attended church her entire life, but is a new Episcopalian. She grew up as a country girl in St. Joseph, Louisiana and is a true southerner where hospitality, saying hi to everyone, and helping your neighbor is key!

She received a B.S. in Nutrition from Northeast Louisiana University and a M.S. degree in Institution Management from Louisiana Tech University. She worked as an administrative and clinical dietitian for most of her career in a long term care facility, hospitals, and the space program.

She has been married to Phil for 30 years and they have a son who lives in New York and a daughter in California.

Gloria started her position as Parish Administrator in September 2022. She greatly enjoys working at St. David’s and considers staff and church members part of her family!

Jocelyn Bartle

Director of Communications

Jocelyn has been actively involved in church her entire life, but is a new(ish) Episcopalian. She was introduced to the beauty of liturgical worship through her husband, the Rev. Kevin Bartle. Jocelyn & Kevin have been married since 2013 and have two adorable furbabies.

Before moving into full time ministry, Jocelyn served as the Lower School Assistant Director for a private school in Orlando. She has experience in program management and development, communications and marketing, bookkeeping, and ministry leadership. In addition to her role at St. David's, she also serves as the Communications Director for St. Mary of the Angels Episcopal Church & Preschool in Orlando and on the communications team for the Diocese of Central Florida.

In her free time, Jocelyn enjoys watching cooking shows, attending the theater, reading mystery novels, and trying to convince her husband to adopt another cat.

Vestry

In Episcopal churches, a group of parish-elected representatives serve in conjunction with the Rector as the church’s governing board. The role of the Vestry and its members is to support the vision and mission of St. David’s by the Sea, to lead in service and ministry, to ensure proper stewardship of the church’s resources, to engage in both short-term and long-term visionary planning, and to act as helpers to the Rector for the furtherance of the welfare of the church.

The following people serve on the current Vestry: Roxanne McCormac (Senior Warden), Jack Tracy (Junior Warden), Sylvia Rath, Louise Weaver, Mike Faughnan, Ross Amelio, Allison Cobb, Bob Schlafke, and Jeanne Weaver.
